Currently working to combat illegal mining in the Andean region of Peru.  This phenomenon is intimately linked to human trafficking, child labor, and drug smuggling.  It deters legitimate economic development, does not contribute to the national tax revenue, and undercuts the business enabling environment generally.  MHIGG has put on a series of seminars for local communities to improve their understanding and the public consciousness about the problems associated with it.
